The Witch of Grič
How small can a museum be and still tell a powerful story? Meet the Witch of Grič in one of Zagreb’s most unusual museums.
Tucked away in central Zagreb, in Skalinska Street, lies the “almost smallest museum in the world”: The Witch of Grič. This unique space blends art, history and education through the story of the Witch of Grič and the women once persecuted for alleged witchcraft. Despite its size, the museum reveals a rich world of beliefs and everyday life, featuring valuable exhibits such as a rare 16th-century edition of the Malleus Maleficarum, a manual for the persecution of witches.
