Video Game History Museum (VGHM)

Tucked into the vibrant streets of Zagreb lies a treasure trove that will make your inner gamer jump for joy – the Video Game History Museum. Spanning three action-packed floors, it’s a nostalgic rollercoaster through the birth, boom and brilliance of video games from the 1960s to the 2000s.

Draškovićeva ul. 10

Step inside and travel through time, from the humble bleeps of Pong to arcade mania, console wars and the dawn of 3D. The museum charts the evolution of gaming by decade, with interactive exhibits and iconic systems like the Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation ready to play. Don’t miss the fully decked-out retro Arkade – a love letter to the golden age of the ‘80s, glowing with real-deal sounds, flashing cabinets and classic games just waiting for you to press start.

Each era is lovingly curated with legendary titles, groundbreaking consoles, rare memorabilia and behind-the-scenes gems, drawn from one of the largest private video game collections in the world. The museum was created by gaming expert Damir Šlogar, whose lifelong dedication to video games shines through every pixel.

This place isn’t just about looking – it’s about playing, exploring and feeling the evolution of an entire culture. With hands-on exhibits, workshops and special events, you’re invited to jump in and experience the power and magic of games first-hand.

Whether you’re a joystick warrior, a curious newbie or just chasing that perfect wave of nostalgia –this is your cheat code to fun.

Zagreb’s Video Game History Museum is open. Are you game?
