Marko Perković Thompson’s concert in Zagreb

Recommendations and important information for the weekend of 4 to 6 July 2025

Dear fellow citizens and visitors of Zagreb,

During the weekend of 4 to 6 July 2025, on the occasion of the large concert by Marko Perković Thompson in Zagreb, on Saturday, 5 July, increased traffic and special traffic regulations are expected both in the city and on the access roads to Zagreb.

We ask all visitors to obtain timely information and plan their travel and stay in accordance with the recommendations of the competent authorities.

The City of Zagreb and the organizers urge that people avoid arriving by car as much as possible, and that public transportation and walking are recommended for arriving at the concert.

Public transport restrictions

Due to major security and organizational requirements, public transport will be partially disrupted, especially near the Hippodrome:

  • Starting late Friday evening, the ZET bus terminal at the Main Station will be closed.
  • Ulica grada Vukovara (City of Vukovar Street) will be closed on Saturday morning – neither trams nor buses will operate on that section.
  • Trams running via the Liberty Bridge and Dubrovnik Avenue will likely be shortened or suspended once the avenue is closed (expected in the afternoon).
  • Tram and bus traffic will gradually be shut down throughout the day, depending on the movement of people.
  • Bus lines through Novi Zagreb will be diverted or suspended in the Kajzerica, Zapruđe, Bundek and Lanište zones.

Don’t rely on public transportation to get directly to the Hippodrome – expect to walk part of the way.

If you are arriving by train (Main Station) or bus (Bus Station), count on a 4–5 km walk, which means about an hour of walking, depending on the route.

The bridges over the Sava River (Liberty and Youth Bridges) may be closed to vehicles, but will remain open to pedestrians – they are expected to become the main access routes to the concert.

Organizers say:
“Our trams cannot transport 500,000 people. Leave the trams to the elders. If you can walk – come on foot."

Public transportation should be left to those who need it most: the elderly, people with disabilities and families with small children. Separate entrances and parking will be provided for them.

ZET will introduce extraordinary lines and additional transportation, including buses for the return trip after the concert – but this will not be able to cover all visitors. Count on returning on foot being the most reliable choice.

Arriving by car - strongly not recommended

Getting to the Hippodrome by car will be extremely difficult or impossible. The City of Zagreb is introducing a series of traffic restrictions on 5 July:

  • There is no possibility of parking near the Hippodrome.
  • Traffic is being restricted on key roads, especially in Novi Zagreb.
  • Residents of surrounding settlements (Kajzerica, Zapruđe, Središće) will be allowed into the restricted traffic zone, but they are also advised not to move their vehicles unless necessary.
  • Private cars will not be allowed access to the concert area.
  • Tourist buses will have specially organized arrival and parking – this only applies to organized arrivals. All buses coming to the concert must be announced in advance via email at parking@infinite-show.com.

If you’re coming to Zagreb by car from outside the city, consider:

  • parking outside the city or
  • using the outskirts of the city (e.g. shopping malls) as parking lots
  • leaving your vehicle and continuing by public transport or on foot, as much as possible.

Practical advice

Wear comfortable footwear – sneakers or shoes suitable for prolonged walking and standing. Avoid high heels, uncomfortable sandals or new shoes. It will be necessary to walk and stand for several hours.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

There will be an increased presence of security and police at the concert location and in the surrounding area.

It is recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds at the entrances and traffic.

Bring your ID card or passport with you.

The entry of glass bottles, pyrotechnics, weapons, alcohol and other hazardous items is prohibited.

Check the weather forecast on the day of the concert. Since this is an outdoor concert, bring hats or raincoats, depending on the forecast.

Medical teams and first aid stations will be available at the concert location.

In case of emergency, follow the instructions of the field services.

Consolidated important health and safety recommendations have been published on the official website of the Croatian Institute of Public Health – protection from heat, crowds, noise and other risks
