Zagreb Celebrates Its Day with Music, Art and Free City Tours

On the occasion of Zagreb City Day, on Sunday, 31 May, the Zagreb Tourist Board (ZTB), in cooperation with its partners, has prepared a rich programme for citizens and visitors.

Visitors can look forward to numerous cultural, musical and tourism-related events at various locations across the city – from dance evenings in the atrium of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery and free exhibitions to organised city tours and excursions to Medvednica mountain.

At the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, the programme Dance in the Gallery will take place – a dance evening starting at 7:00 PM with a performance by the ensemble Tango Appassionato featuring tenor Tvrtko Stipić, who will perform Zagreb classics, while from 8:30 PM the audience will be entertained by the band Louise with a pop dance repertoire. Additionally, visitors will be able to enjoy free admission throughout the day to the Gallery’s current exhibitions: the 8th Painting Biennale (2nd floor), Artist’s Castle in the Sky of Clouds (1st floor), and In the Beginning There Was Drawing (basement).

“Zagreb City Day is an opportunity to celebrate together the identity, creativity and birthday of Zagreb, and the programme Dance in the Gallery, which we are organising with the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery in its atrium, will uniquely combine music, art and socialising in this exceptional setting. I believe that many citizens and visitors will enjoy the content we have prepared, and I would like to sincerely congratulate all the people of Zagreb on the Day of our city,” said Martina Bienenfeld, Director of the Zagreb Tourist Board.

For lovers of nature and active holidays, a half-day excursion “Above Zagreb” to Medvednica mountain is being organised. The programme includes a tram ride and a ride on the Sljeme cable car, a visit to Brestovac and the Sljeme 360 viewpoint, as well as a break with traditional Zagreb štrukli. Departure is scheduled for 10:00 AM in front of the Ban Jelačić monument. The excursion lasts five hours, is conducted in Croatian, and registrations are accepted via e-mail at: hello@exploremorecroatia.com until the group is full.
