16th Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival: An Invitation to Sci-fi Movie Fans
An eventful programme and excellent atmosphere are a really good reason for movie fans to come to the largest regional festival of fantasy films.
Fans of fantasy and genre films consider Zagreb as a permanent destination in summer. They will arrive this year as well when the 16th edition of the Zagreb Film Festival will take place from 25 June to 5 July. It is the largest festival of this movie genre in the region. As in previous years, science fiction films, thrillers, action films, fantasy films, psychological dramas, horrors, anime and other films will be screened. The most recent genre films will be intertwined with cult classics.
The special ambience in which the screenings take place certainly contributes to the atmosphere and pleasure of spectators. Most screenings take place at the Tuškanac Summer Stage, in the woods, just a ten-minute walk away from the city’s main square. It was this very festival that reopened the iconic movie stage after a long break, several years ago. The fact that it is located in the woods ensures freshness even during hot summer nights. The fact that pets are welcome to the screenings brings additional pleasure to those spectators who are also dog owners.
The second venue for movie screenings of the Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival is a hall at the Cultural and Information Centre, in the very centre of the city.
