12th Summer at the MCA: Marked by Multidisciplinary Art Scene
The Summer at the Museum of Contemporary Art gained recognition in more than ten editions. Year after year it keeps proving it is an important centre of cultural life during summer in Zagreb.
The 12th edition of the Summer at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) will take place every Friday afternoon and evening from 6 June to 11 July. This multimedia cultural event encompasses concerts, exhibitions, dance, film and theatre and with this varied content wins the hearts of many art lovers from Croatia and the world. The overall programme brings a selection of current art events, but also the most recent discoveries at the multimedia art scene of Zagreb, Croatia, the region and the world. This summer once again it will invite visitors of the Museum of Contemporary Art to exhibitions, film screenings, dance performances and, in the end, evening concerts of the best rock and art bands of the region, which will perform on the museum plateau.
Also, every evening when there is an event encompassed by the programme, the ticket also grants entrance to the exhibition of Andreja Kulunčić, To Make the World a Better Place free of charge.
With a combination of music, exhibitions, films and dance, the programme of the Summer at the Museum of Contemporary Art attempts to exert the notion of Gesamtkunstwerk. It is a complete artistic experience resulting from various art forms and pop culture collaborating and bringing them to the wider audience. This year’s edition of the Summer at the MCA, in addition to the standard collaboration with the Metropolis Cinema, is realised in partnership with the World Festival of Animated Film Animafest and the programme ANTISEASON – dance at Gorgona.
