World Tourism Day 2026

Discover Zagreb through free themed walking tours on Sunday, 27 September.

The Zagreb Tourist Board is once again joining the celebration of World Tourism Day on 27 September. This Sunday, three free themed tours will offer different ways to explore Zagreb and its stories.

Registration is required. Send your full name and the number of people accompanying you to the contact listed for your chosen tour. Registration is open on Saturday, 26 September until the tour is fully booked.

Zagreb Time Travel

An interactive journey through Zagreb’s historic centre, visiting 12 locations with the help of Time Machines - tablets featuring stories, quizzes and challenges.

Start: 9:30 am
Meeting point: Ban Jelačić Square, in front of the Visitor Centre
Duration: Approximately 2 hours

Discover Zagreb and Love It Even More - an educational tour for children

Join Renata, a local Zagreb guide, to discover the city’s best-known landmarks and hear stories about its past.

Start: 10:00 am

Mysterious Stories

Explore Zagreb through tales of ghosts, buried treasure, superstitions and other intriguing stories from the city’s past.

Start: 5:00 pm

Please note: If the weather is poor, the tours will be cancelled and will not be rescheduled. Registered participants will be informed of any cancellation in good time.

Other events supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board

World Tourism Day activities also include free tours for residents as part of the Get to Know Your City programme, the Cravat Regiment Changing of the Guard, and Zagreb Time Machine - Characters from the Upper Town’s Past. There will also be performances by Cinkuši and Folklore Scene, along with ZET’s Musical Ticket Inspection and Zagreb Promenade programmes.
