Damir Fabijanić: Gaia…and Zagreb: Zagreb as it is

Gaia... and Zagreb: Zagreb as It Is, an original project by photographer Damir Fabijanić, is currently on display throughout the streets of Zagreb. Installed at 13 locations in the city center, this unique exhibition uses urban scaffolding as its canvas, transforming it into an open-air gallery.
Through 70 analog photographs taken in 2025 using a rare 6x12 cm color negative film, Fabijanić presents an unembellished view of Zagreb — with passersby, trams, and everyday life. Dedicated to his granddaughter Gaia and all future generations, this project is a story of love for the city and hope for the world Gaia and her peers will inherit. While photographing Zagreb, Fabijanić thought of his granddaughter and all future grandchildren who will walk these streets, play in the parks, and discover the city’s hidden corners.
