At the Museum: Encounters at a Very Special Pace
One of the most beautiful open spaces in Zagreb will be a place of interesting encounters, entertainment and excellent atmosphere until the end of September.
A walk in the Upper Town gives you an opportunity to stop by at the beautiful atrium of the Zagreb City Museum, which holds one of the most beautiful open spaces in Zagreb. All the way until September it will be the venue of the summer event At the Museum.
Every day from 10 until midnight, you can take a break in the atrium of the building at 20 Opatička Street in the Upper Town, have a cup of coffee, a cocktail, listen to discreet music and socialise. The event involves many activities, such as themed quizzes, movie screenings and similar. It is an excellent opportunity to take a breath after visiting the Zagreb City Museum or meet someone interesting in a very special place.
The temperature, and not just air temperature, will rise and culminate with evening concerts. This is the time when At the Museum will become a place of fun, interesting encounters and excellent atmosphere, where else then under open skies in the Upper Town, more romantic than anywhere else.
The building which the Museum occupies today was the Convent of the Poor Clares in the 17th century where nuns also run the first private school for girls. The wall sundial dates from the same century. It is considered the oldest preserved painted sundial and it indicates the time punctually even today. The purpose of the building changed several times throughout history until in 1947 it welcomed the Zagreb City Museum.
The programme of the event At the Museum is made available weekly on social media of the event.
