Croatian National Theatre: New Theatre Stage Is Open
In the life of every theatre there are important dates, and this year the Croatian National Theatre can boast of two of them. One is connected to the past, and the other has a bold and creative future!
In the year when the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb marked 130 years since its historical building was erected, in early November another important date was celebrated: the opening of the new, modern theatre stage CNT2.
The new stage is one of the most important infrastructural and artistic advancements in the recent history of Croatian culture, and the total investment amounts to 45 million euro. CNT2 is located in the city centre, in 7A Božidara Adžije Street.
This event marks a new era in the activities of the Croatian National Theatre, which now operates on two equal stages. The new stage is equipped with cutting edge technology, adjustable to the requirements of drama, opera and ballet programmes and can welcome up to 350 spectators.
The opening of the CNT2 is a long-awaited cultural project which unites a long theatre tradition, innovation and a vision of the future.
Spectators from Zagreb and the entire Croatia met the opening of the new stage of the Croatian National Theatre, whose events are regularly sold out, with great interest and joy.
