Festival of Lights: Beauty with a Message
The Festival of Lights is a beautiful representation of a city that welcomes spring with artistic light installations, but also a timeless story about beauty, nature preservation and its value.
Zagreb will welcome spring in a special way once again, with the Festival of Lights Zagreb. From 18 to 22 March, this festival will decorate city streets, squares, facades and parks with unique light installations, which are interesting and appealing to all generations.
In front of many spectators, a synergy of creative artists and modern technology will create twenty-six light installations that tell beautiful stories at 21 locations in the city. This is what makes the Festival of Lights in Zagreb recognisable in the world.
However, in addition to a unique visual experience, the festival in Zagreb is also a place of valuable, timeless messages as well as an invitation to explore the sights, cultural heritage and modern identity of the city.
In addition to the artwork by Croatian authors, artists from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Slovakia and Spain will also contribute to the design and execution of this year’s edition of the festival.
The international recognition of the festival is confirmed by the European Best Destinations and Forbes, which list it as one of the best cultural events in Europe to visit in 2026.
The cooperation between the festival and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) focuses on sustainability and environment protection, with a special emphasis on the impact of climate change on sea and marine life. This raises awareness about the importance of conserving natural ecosystems and responsible behaviour towards environment.
Beautiful images and powerful messages are a chance to enjoy the Festival of Lights Zagreb as well as the atmosphere of the city that adds a unique story told by lights to its rich cultural, entertainment and catering facilities.
