Zagreb Music Fest: World-Famous DJs and Musicians Are on Their Way
Summer music season at Zagreb’s Jarun Lake starts with the three-day Zagreb Music Fest and a string of appealing concerts of electronic music.
The Zagreb Music Fest will take place from 6 to 8 June at Zagreb’s Recreational and Sporting centre Jarun. Its special beauty is due to two lakes, six islands and a lot of greenery. This open-air festival starts with electronic spectacle headed by Maceo Plex, one of the most influential DJs and producers in the world, who is returning to Zagreb for the first time after more than ten years. He is famous for an innovative blend of techno, house and electro sound. Dutch DJ and producer Eelke Kleijn, known for his remixes for John Legend, Pendulum and Australian alternative band Rüfüs Du Sol and Croatian performers DJ Jock, Shipe and Lemon will also perform.
A pioneer of electro swing and one of the most famous Austrian performers, Parov Stelar, will also hold a concert at the Zagreb Music Fest. His recognisable sound merging jazz, swing, hip-hop and electronic music thrilled the world and his hits gained a cult status. This music visionary, who has released ten studio albums, is coming to Jarun Lake with a special live performance devised for this occasion, combining the most recent music with well-known hits. It will be a unique mixture which joins the past and the future with a song selection. As a warmup, two talented Croatian musicians will entertain the audience; J.R. August, a song writer and a music virtuoso whose debut album Dangerous Waters won three Porin awards and Pocket Palma, a trio which mixes retro synth pop sound with modern production.
This year’s Zagreb Music Fest will end with the performance of Bajaga i Instruktori, who are returning to Zagreb after giving an excellent concert at the Arena Zagreb Hall marking forty years of their career.
